Some love stories feel like they’re straight out of a movie. Caitlin and Matt’s? It’s one of those. From the way they see the world—with humor, artistry, and a deep appreciation for every little moment—to the way they chose to celebrate their wedding, everything about them just fits.
Caitlin and Matt are accomplished performing artists, most recently seen in the Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera.
The Rehearsal Dinner
A Proposal with a Plot Twist
Matt had a plan. It was going to be perfect—sunset in South Kona, whales in the distance, a quiet moment just for them. Caitlin thought they were just taking some cover art photos for a song recording. The photographer told her to hold still for a long exposure shot, and while she focused on that, Matt quietly got down on one knee behind her. The moment she finally turned around? Pure magic. Well—after a slight delay. She froze, whispering, “I’m scared.” (Which, to be fair, scared Matt too.) But once the shock wore off, the answer was a resounding yes, followed by laughter, tears, and sushi with her parents—who had been in on the whole thing.

Fast forward to the big day, and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect. When choosing a venue, Caitlin and Matt wanted a place that felt right the second they stepped in. “There’s something magical about that place as soon as you step through those front doors and into the atrium,” Caitlin said. It had the perfect beachfront view, incredible food, and was a spot where their friends and family could celebrate comfortably.
They included a sand ceremony, blending their lives into one, and filled the day with music that meant something to them. From Somewhere Over the Rainbow to I Lava You, every song told a piece of their story. And if you’ve ever seen the opening credits of Pachinko, you’d get an idea of the kind of energy they wanted in their wedding film—pure joy, movement, and generations coming together to dance, celebrate, and just be.
A Love That’s Meant to Be
Caitlin and Matt aren’t just partners in life—they’re artists, storytellers, and dreamers. They believe in paying attention to the beautiful moments life gives us, in laughing at themselves, and in embracing everything—planned or unplanned—that comes their way.
Their wedding was a reflection of that. A little bit of magic, a lot of love, and a story that will keep unfolding for years to come.
